The inaugural Frost Charity Golf Classic, sponsored by focusEGD, turned out to be more damp than Frosty. After a postponement the event was finally played on Friday, December 14. However, spirits were not dampened, and “weathering” the elements became an adventure and a commitment to make certain that some good was done for CitySquare and the fight against poverty. Fourteen hardy linksters took to the Stevens Park Golf Course, where it rained steadily for the first two hours (and for the first time in months)! In the end a great time was had by all and $500 was provided to CitySquare…money that goes along way to provide food, medical assistance and job training for our “neighbors” in need! It seems that committed and /or damp golfers are a generous bunch as well.
Chris Leonard of Mohr Partners won the overall Championship and Dave Rapp of Childress Engineering tied for low gross and won the low net honors. A little weather will not stop the momentum. A “DeFrosty” is being planned for the early Spring and The Frosty will be played again next year in early December. Please get in touch with Hal Matthews at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to be added to the Frosty Golf Association email list. (Auction items are appreciated as well).
